Bhikkhu Abhinando was born in Hamburg in 1966. He became a Buddhist monk in the Theravada lineage at Chithurst Buddhist Monastery with Ajahn Sumedho as preceptor in 1994. At the moment he lives at Dhammapala Monastery in Switzerland.
His first collection of poetry, Quando Tutto è Detto (Wenn Alles Gesagt Ist; Italian/German) was published by Vivarium, Milano in 2007. The second, revised, edition of the German/English version (When Everything is Said) is available for free distribution from Aruno Publications. His second collection of poetry, Wolves, Dreams, Transformations (2013) is also available for free distribution from Aruno Publications. Both of these collections are in German with English translations. In 2020 he published Was Brennt, his collected poems since 1989 in German only, with the Dhammapala Verlag. All three books can be downloaded from the book page of this website. In 2024 he published Die Lage bleibt ernst, with illustrations by the Swiss artist Edy Marconi, and The most sensitive spot, a selection of his poems in English with selected artworks by Ajahn Kancano. Both are available from the print-on-demand publisher Blurb as paperback or pdf from all their websites.
